About Patton's Christmas Trees - Dallas
Patton's Christmas Trees Celebrates Their 50 Year Anniversary!
Who We Are: Every November, Patton’s Christmas Trees seems to magically appear in the Lakewood neighborhood of east Dallas… their big blue and white striped tent beckons you in to see and smell the freshly cut Christmas trees, the tables stacked high with fragrant wreaths and lengths of garlands. The sounds of Christmas music, children laughing and sound of owner Jeff Patton’s classic Chevy truck – a cherry red pickup that he uses as their delivery truck can all be heard there on the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams. Patton’s has been selling Christmas trees in a wide variety of sizes, gorgeous, full wreaths and fragrant lengths of fresh-cut garlands every Christmas holiday season since 1975. That’s 50 years! They’re a small, family owned and operated business that still serves the same community they did on day one.
In a world where small businesses struggle to survive, this family-owned enterprise has defied the odds and stood the test of time. For an astounding 50 years, Patton’s Christmas Trees has been the beacon of Christmas cheer in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas, Texas. They are one of (if not THE) oldest and longest running Christmas tree lots in the DFW metroplex!
Where We Are: Since 1975, the owners of Patton’s Christmas Trees, Jeff and Yvette Patton, have been offering fresh-cut, real Christmas trees for sale in east Dallas. Their tree lot is located at 6444 E Mockingbird Ln, Dallas, TX 75214 beginning mid-November up until Christmas.
Our Trees: Patton’s trees come from different parts of the US depending on the species/variety. The Fraser Firs come from North Carolina, the Noble Firs and Nordmann Firs come from Oregon. Visit in person to see the fresh-cut Christmas tree selection for yourself – or call to set up sales and delivery to your home or business!
Why We’re Unique: The story of Patton’s Christmas Trees is one of unwavering dedication, passed down through generations. It all began in 1974 when Jeff Patton, the patriarch of the Patton clan, started selling fresh-cut Christmas trees on the corner of two busy Dallas streets. Fast forward to today: after all those years and a few location changes, Patton’s Christmas Trees is still going strong. Like clockwork, every year that iconic blue and white tent pops up at the corner of Mockingbird and Abrams, signaling the arrival of the holiday season to the residents of East Dallas.
A visit to Patton’s Christmas Trees has been a holiday tradition for Dallas families for years. As a result, Jeff sees lots of familiar faces every year. In fact, a big part of his customer base is made up of multiple generations of families. Lots of those customers come for a visit just as much as they come for a Christmas tree.

What’s even more remarkable is that Patton’s Christmas Trees has remained a family-owned and operated business for the entirety of its 50-year history. Today, Jeff Patton runs the business alongside his son, Jeffrey Patton Jr., and grandson, Jeffrey Patton III. A fantastic, hardworking crew helps them out by loading, cutting and stringing lights on trees everyday between Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve.
Yvette Patton, Jeff’s wife and the matriarch of the Pattons, has just as much passion for spreading Christmas cheer as her husband. It was this mutual love of Christmas that brought the couple together, so it’s fitting that their wedding anniversary is Christmas Day! For over 25 Yvette has been decorating DFW homes and businesses for the holidays. In recent years, her company Patton Christmas Designs by Yvette decorated ‘Texas Live!’, Bob’s Steak and Chop House, the Harwood District and many others.
A strong family bond and multigenerational approach to running their business has not only preserved the Patton family’s legacy, but also fostered a deep connection with the community they serve. According to industry data, the average lifespan of a small, family-owned business is just 12 years. Yet, Patton’s Christmas Trees has defied the odds, thriving for five decades and counting. This remarkable achievement is a testament to the Patton family’s unwavering commitment to faith, family, their community, and their love of Christmas and all it represents.
For half a century, this small, family-run business has been one of the few constants in an ever-changing city. Customers aware of the Patton’s Christmas Trees story realize that when they buy a tree from one of the three Jeffs, they’re buying into and supporting an enduring piece of Dallas history.
So, this holiday season, as you enter Patton’s tent and walk amongst the magnificent Fraser, Nordmann and Noble firs, take a moment to appreciate this family’s legacy. Like red ribbons woven around a wreath, Patton’s is woven into the fabric of the Lakewood community. Here’s to 50 more years of Patton’s Christmas Trees, the oldest and longest-operating Christmas tree lot in the DFW metroplex.

Maggie ReyesJanuary 11, 2024I had a fantastic experience at Patton’s Christmas trees. The staff went above and beyond to help me find the perfect tree for my apartment and affixed it to the roof of my sedan with ease - no easy task! Engaging With the Dallas Community
In December 2022, Jeff Patton sat down with Rich & Camille, hosts of the podcast “What in East Dallas is Going On?” to talk about how Jeff got started in the business and how to take care of (and extend the life of) your fresh-cut Christmas tree. The episode is appropriately titled “Patton’s Christmas Trees“. 😉🎄
